“In Her Shoes” is a story of friendship and jealousy. Rukky Sanda and Oge Okoye play Funke and Peju who are best friends. When Ken (Yemi Blaq) visits the village to see his uncle he meets Peju for the first time. He’s a refined businessman who lives in Lagos and Peju sees him as a ticket out of the village. He leaves his business card with Peju and she misplaces it. But all is not lost because Funke steps in and makes nice to Ken’s uncle and manages to get her hands on Ken’s phone number and she gives it to Peju.
Everything works out and the story jumps to two years later when Peju is married to Ken. This marks the first fault in the drama because the audience is robbed of the entire courtship between Ken and Peju. The next thing we know, Funke moves to the city to live with Peju and Ken to pursue her goal of becoming a seamstress. Of course we know where this is heading. Ken finds himself attracted to Funke and they have an affair right under Peju’s nose.
